s:s&s ep

If you’re an iPhone user, take heed y’all, straight from the town of Philly (Toronto) y’all, we about to give you what you need y’all.  Without a doubt.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP is comin out Q2 of this year and it looks amazing.

The art direction looks amazing anyway. There’s a video on their project site with a fight sequence they claim offers the “simplicity & immediacy of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out”.  It does look simplistic and maybe immediate but also probably extremely boring.  I hope it proves otherwise because I will be purchasing this the second I’m aware it’s available.

My hopes are somewhat lifted by the fact that also involved in this project is the Capybara game studio.  They’re responsible for the game Critter Crunch, which I will be purchasing the second my PS3 is connected to the internet-at-large.  Judging purely from internet video of their games, they appear to know how to put together quality game mechanics. And it looks like they’re onboard for engineering duties with S:S&S EP so it may bode well for the action.

Huh, there’s an iPhone version of Critter Crunch too. Twitch gameplay isn’t really what I would consider an iPhone strong suit, although maybe they nailed it. It’s only $2, I think I’ll try it…. and that’s where Apple wins.

  1. Critter Crunch iPhone has a lite version for demonstration purposes. Score. Seems worth $2 for the odd distraction.
