Yesterday marked the first day of spring and the first race of the season. The Shamrock Shuffle 5k. I knocked almost a min off my time from last year. By my watch I finished in 27 min 20 sec. It was a very warm day and the largest crowd the race has had. Ben will be posting pics from the race on the website. Finished with Guinness at Salt Hill, a local pub. This morning I shuffled a very slow 3 miles so as to not overdue things too much, although I probably could’ve skipped things and stayed in bed! I’m iceing my legs right now which I usually try to do after any run to prevent injury. Week two starts tomorrow and onwards to the Road to the Pogue trail race in May.
Giving a shout out to Sara who is running the ING half marathon today in Atlanta. Good luck and I am so excited for you (and for me because you can run long distance with me in Maine!).
Keep on shufflin’
