I remember seeing a teaser for this short animated film called Oktapodi a few years ago. You can imagine how brief a teaser to a short is. The teaser showed two octopuses in love, and then violently separated. It looked fantastic, I wanted to see more and I vowed to follow their progress!
I promptly forgot about it.
Thankfully as with most things, the crème rises and presents itself eventually. Sometimes in strange places. I stumbled on the finished product this morning when someone embedded it in response to a Gizmodo story.
I looked up the website for this short and there are a few nice little making-of vignettes and a higher quality version of the film. I’m endlessly fascinated by this type of film making. It’s a great blend of lots of things that interest me.

That’s awesome. It looks just like where Greg and I spent our honeymoon! http://images.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=oia%2C+santorini&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=&start=0
Yeah, I’ve pretty much wanted to go back there ever since…
I’ve told Amy we need to find our way over there too.
