post apocalypse

While we’re on the subject of natural disasters – you may have heard that The Dirty Souf has been devastated by as many as two whole inches of snow since the weekend. Turns out, bringing a city to a halt isn’t all bad. And it’s funny to those of us who live under the constant threat and presence of snow and ice from November to April.

My brother sent these photos taken today of the grocery store. I’ve never seen anything like it in civilized culture. We’ve all had a good laugh here in the office, thanks.

Compared to Monday morning after Christmas here;

We had quite a bit of wind that night. I expect the overall total would have been greater if the snow had been allowed to settle quietly. I would have reported for duty that morning if I weren’t on this reduced work schedule. Thankfully I got to play in my plow all morning instead.

Speaking of work, I’m back on a full schedule starting yesterday. I’m freaked out about the idea of spending 5 days in the office again, but I’ll get over it. Getting a 40% raise should help dull the pain. Luckily I finished the bulk of the work I’d been doing on the house this past weekend. Look forward to a post on that soon!

  1. Oh wait. I guess the sky WAS falling. Snow.

    I just noticed your emoticon. I’m giggling.

  2. And before you ask, I’m sure I immediately noticed the freaking out emoticon but it just didn’t register. It’s THAT kind of a day.
