Amidst the holiday glow, I’ve committed to a camera lens. Well, amidst figuring out how to spend some Christmas payola on a smaller item, I discovered that the Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS II USM was on sale. Actually, it was slightly cheaper on Amazon than the B&H so I bought it there. We’ve all heard me agonize over the next lens debate – I had come to the conclusion that the 70-200 f2.8 was the way to go if I could stomach the cost – a purchase was going to happen one way or another. Lenses don’t go on sale very often so I went for it. I came in expecting to spend gift money, and came away spending that gift money and a shit ton of my own money too. Bad times.
What I initially set out to do was solve the great camera bag dilemma and I believe we can consider that case closed as well. I had my eye on the Domke F-2 Original Shoulder Bag until I recently saw a picture of it filled with gear and realized it was roughly the size of my entire torso. I don’t have that much gear, my wallet can’t take it. So I reset my sights on the Domke F-3X Shoulder Bag. I think it’ll be perfect for my camera body, two lenses and a flash (plus misc. gear). I hope.

You mean “Good Times”. DY-NO-MITE! It means you can take pics of little and big woodland creatures on our trip, near and far. Wolves won’t look like dots on the horizon. Hopefully pics of grizzlies in Glacier will look detailed because of the scope of the lens, and not because they are about to eat us.
Thankfully I run faster than you. 🙂
Don’t kid yourself, I think Amy and the bear train harder than you do.
Harder yes, but smarter? Smarter?! I say no.
Wow. So now that Christmas is over, it’s back to meaness and spite? That’s harsh. You keep forgetting that Santa knows. He watches and KNOWS.
That’s right, it’s back on like donkey kong.
The lens AND bag are scheduled to arrive at work on Thursday, by the way. SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
So you’ll be able to take super sweet up close pics of our newly grouted floor!
