I’ve already professed my love for the car show Top Gear two times, but I saw this today and thought I’d share it up. It’s a nice, Americanized intro to the show.
Speaking of Americanizing, the American franchise is kicking off next month I guess. I’m curious but honestly not that excited. As Jeremy states in the video, the chemistry between the guys will be important. It’s almost more important to me than the cars. Sadly, the 60 minute clip fails to illustrate that very well. But anyway, here’s the trailer. I’ll definitely be checking it out. Could be a winner.

I saw the “60 Minutes” item, as did Mark Owens. I encouraged him to check it out. Last night’s episode with Tom Cruise was not particularly inspired, unfortunately. It was followed by the carivan piece (better to my mind). We’ll see what his take is today.
The American “Gear” trailer isn’t much.
There is a longer trailer for the American show. Here you go;
The Tom Cruise episode was not good and their interview was uncomfortable. They were there to promote their terrible movie. The show initially had a policy of not showing clips from guest’s movies, specifically to escape the greasy promotion tour feel. Cameron Diaz clearly had no idea why she was dropped off in a hanger outside London. Amy and I both hope the trend of bringing Americans who have never heard of the show doesn’t continue, although maybe with the American version at least they’ll be aware that such a show exists. Or they can just congregate on this show.
My favorite Mustang. Thanks.
Mark had positive comments about the Porsche/Audi comparison, but wanted specifications (transmission/various controls). The carivan episode started at 10:00, too late and not much interest there. We might have a convert.
