Weather for Sunday looks hot. I’m having flashbacks to the first year I ran the race in the 90+ degree heat and close to 100% humidity. I don’t think it will be as humid on Sunday, just hot. I think I’ve learned a lot since then in terms of what to do/not do with respect to hydration, food, speed. I guess I’m just getting antsy and nervous. Eating a lot of beans this week isn’t helping my jittery stomach. Avoid for next year. I’m also excited and as prepared as I could be. I should have done better with my diet and lost some more weight (I say this every year), but nothing I can do about that now. I’ve run the course in varying degrees over the course of the summer and feel confident that I can finish running. And at least this year I’m not recovering from the stomach flu. As Ben linked to before, always look on the bright side of life.
Anyway, this is a request for all of you to get out there and start dancin’ for rain, or at least for cooler temps for Sunday. And dancin’ to give me energy and strength to finish strong.
