Here’s Ratatat’s new video for their track Drugs. It uses stock video footage and it’s creepy. I met a guy on our Alaska trip who was into stock photography and on the one hand it seemed great because he’d made some money to pay for more camera gear. But on the other hand, he spent his trip going to places where he could take extreme close-ups of majestic eagles in captivity because someone will use that photo to show us all how patriotic their insurance company is. I’m not really into that. And I’m not really into gathering together a bunch of paid people to stand around, arms folded, smiling like idiots.

I wish I could figure out what it is that I am in to. This video, yes, but my deal with Ratatat is that I’ll hear them interviewed on the radio and be like, I need to get me some Ratatat. Then I go out looking for some Ratatat and sample their stuff and it’s not at all like what they played in the interview. Then I’ll see this video and be like, I need to get myself….. forget it.
