So ends another week. Back from CA. Wonderful vacation and feel rested for another week at work. One month until next vacation in Maine. Stuck pretty well to eating good. Except for the beer and vino (which flowed copiously), we ate pretty healthy and didn’t snack much. I am having difficult time tracking weight consistently because the scale we have seems to show on any given day anywhere from a 2-4 lb differential from morning to evening. In any case I think I’ve lost 2 lbs so far, give or take an ounce or two. Once I get down around my goal weight it’ll be easier to get a clearer estimate of where I’m at. Dieting sucks, just for the record. I like eating healthy but the guilt ensued I get off track isn’t fun and probably is irrational. But the end result will be worth it (I hope).
Finished week with what was supposed to be a 7 mile run, but ended up being around 8. I over shot it. Oh well, will ease back to 7 next week before getting back on the CHaD course. Don’t increase mileage too much week to week. Some people have suggested a 10% rule, which means increasing your weekly mileage by 10%. This is so you don’t run too much too soon. This is a good rule for beginner runners and those of us who want to avoid injury. Was out at 7:30 for the run this morning and it was muggy and humid. I HATE these conditions. They make me sweat much and make me feel somewhat nauseous afterwards. I guess it’s good heat training. Just back off and slow it down. Got new sneakers this weekend. And thiner socks. My second toe on left foot, the nail kept getting bruised. The store clerk thought it was because I was wearing too thick socks, which I hadn’t thought of. I thought the more padding the better, but he reminded me that your feet swell when run, especially in heat. So I bought a couple of pairs of thin running socks. Have been listening a lot to Pedipiddations podcast. I recommend it. Hoping to get out on the bike this week. Did not ride with Ben and Rhonda last week. Was a bit hungover from a flashback to high school evening. Do not ask.
Keep cool,
Amy
