Here are the promised photos from the covered bridges run. I feel a little bad for the old format with all our latest photos going here. Cobwebs and dust are starting to become the dominant force over there. We have an upcoming trip to Sonoma, CA that will hopefully generate enough content to justify an old school gallery. Meaty content there, veggie content here.
I wish we had been in my car for some four wheel drifting action but I think we made our point.
Like a concert, plan on a picnic lunch tailgating session after the race if you ever do the CBHM. Parking logistics leave a lot to be desired. It’s nowhere near the start, a good 10-15 walk from the finish and tucked back in a field with only one exit. With over 2,000 runners it’s maybe too large an event for the available support services. We tried to make the best of things and ate lunch at a nearby diner while the lot cleared out. It’s the only eatery within easy walking distance though so it was packed with like-minded folks trying to get out of the rain and the queue. The rain really just took what would have otherwise been a generally tiresome and annoying circumstance and made it worse. After the wake and funeral at the top of the weekend, and a long run for Amy, we just wanted to be at home resting, not standing around in the rain going nowhere.
To the cops ‘directing’ traffic, because I know you read the Chron – how about you let more than 5 or 6 cars out of the lot every 5 minutes? There are ~1000 of them sitting back in a muddy field. They were just letting light local traffic right on by for extended periods of time instead of emptying the lot. We had front row seats on this keystone operation while we waited for lunch.

The video is so funny! It made me giggle again! Thanks for the pics, hubbie
A shout out to my parents and Ben who were my support crew at the race!
